Sen. John Kavanagh (R-Dist. 23) wrote to Arizona Department of Gaming Director Daniel Bergin June 11, seeking evidence he may have to support the claims that the Tohono O’odham Nation committed: fraud, fraudulent inducement, fraudulent concealment, promissory estoppel and misrepresentation in the matter of the proposed Glendale casino.
Kavanagh, who represents central and north Scottsdale, said, “As an Arizonan and a member of the Senate I am outraged that any fraud was committed against our citizens. In this case those who committed the fraud want to be rewarded with new rights to establish a massive casino right next to a school. I called on Director Bergin to release any and all evidence of the fraud, because the public has a right to the truth without hiding behind sovereign immunity.”
