As Pima County and Tucson officials continue to feud over who pays what for animal care services, one City Council member is using the dispute to push a new a form of regional government.
“We’re talking about regional government that’s cities- and towns-focused, not county-focused,” Tucson City Councilman Steve Kozachik said. “It doesn’t require the county to be in the driver’s seat when we talk about shared services.”
The ongoing dispute over how to pay for Pima Animal Care Center services — one several municipalities are engaged in — is the impetus for seeking a change.
