The next generation of electronics systems that help fly many of the world’s commercial and business aircraft are going to be designed and developed right outside Sun City.

Aviage Systems, a joint venture between GE Aviation and AVIC, China’s largest aerospace and defense company, formally opened its new North American headquarters Thursday off Thunderbird Road and 91st Avenue – less than a mile from Sun City. The ribbon-cutting drew Gov. Doug Ducey, Peoria Mayor Cathy Carlat, company officials and a number of state and local lawmakers.
