Governor Doug Ducey today announced the appointment of Wesley Mehl as deputy commissioner of the Arizona State Land Department. In this role, Mr. Mehl will assist Commissioner Lisa Atkins in the management of approximately 9.3 million acres of trust land in Arizona.
“Wesley has a strong and diverse background, including years of experience in law, business, real estate and land management,” said Governor Ducey. “He’s a welcome addition to our administration and will be a great asset to the state as he helps direct this department’s important mission.”
Mr. Mehl has served as vice president and general counsel of Town West Realty, Inc., a real estate development company in Tucson, since 2011. He previously worked in private legal practice.
Mr. Mehl graduated from the University of Arizona with a B.A. in political science. He obtained his law degree from Pepperdine University and has an LL.M. in real property law from the University of Miami.
