Apache Junction hires Matthew Busby as new Assistant City Manager

At the July 21, 2015 Apache Junction city council meeting, new City Manager Bryant Powell announced the hiring of Matthew Busby as the new Assistant City Manager. In this new role, Mr. Busby will be largely responsible for the day to day operations of the city.

Mr. Busby joined the city as the Assistant to the City Manager over 8 years ago. He has a degree in Health Science from BYU and received his Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Arizona. His previous work experience includes an internship with the Arizona State Treasurer and he also worked as a Fiscal Analyst with the State of Arizona Joint Legislative Budget Committee.

Mr. Powell said of Mr. Busby, “I am confident in his ability to take on this new role… Matt has been instrumental in many aspects of city operations including budget development, intergovernmental relations and policy research.”

The position became available when former Assistant City Manager Bryant Powell was appointed City Manager following the retirement of long time City Manager George Hoffman.
