Arizonans may finally believe the recession is behind us — at least those Arizonans outside of Pima County.
A new survey found statewide consumer confidence at the highest level since 2007. That is being driven by an increasing belief that family income will be higher in six months and a shrinking number of pessimists who believe that business conditions in the state will get worse.
But that optimism apparently has not spread to Pima County, where pollster Earl de Berge of the Behavior Research Center found residents stuck in their fear that happy days may not be quite here again. In fact, there are indications that some area residents think things are getting worse.
