Chandler voters have overwhelmingly decided to keep the city’s local elections in August and November rather than switch to a spring election cycle.
Residents were asked to vote by mail on the question of whether to maintain the current cycle of elections held in those months during even-numbered years, when local elections for mayor and City Council are held.
Unofficial results released Wednesday showed the measure, called Proposition 484, had 20,115 votes in favor and 1,859 votes opposed. Ballots dropped off on election day still were being counted Wednesday, and final results were expected by Friday.
