The Arizona Democratic Party has hired a battle-tested campaign veteran to run the state party.
Sheila Healy, who worked for President Barack Obama’s campaigns in 2008 and 2012, starts today as the state party’s executive director.
Healy was a field organizer for Obama’s first presidential campaign, where she hunkered down in Ohio. She was tapped as a regional field director in Florida during Obama’s reelection bid, when she oversaw the registration of 18,000 voters and managed a campus field operation that, according to a profile on her LinkedIn page, translated into huge turnouts on Election Day.
