Florence Reminder
Violet “Vicki” Kilvinger, Florence’s mayor from 2008 to 2012 and a council member for several years before that, died on the morning of Aug. 12.
Service information was not available by press time.
Mayor Tom Rankin called Kilvinger “a friend of Florence” and a friend of his, despite her beating him in the 2008 election. “Vicki had a sense of humor, too, sometimes more English than American,” Rankin said.
Other council members also expressed condolences to Kilvinger’s family. John Anderson called her “a wonderful lady” and said “we all lost a great friend.”
Statement by Rose Law Group Founder, CEO Jordan Rose:
“May she rest in peace. Mayor Kivlinger was just such a wonderful person; she cared so much, had a great wit and energy about her, was beyond articulate and was always so wise. God will be so happy to greet such an amazing woman, but we are certainly left very sad.”
