Competition among homebuyers is mounting in western Pinal County as the supply of houses can’t keep up with demand.
Arizona State University’s W.P. Carey School of Business reported the number of homes for sale under $200,000 in central Arizona is falling, whereas demand for all price ranges has risen since February.
The number of listings in May 2015 was 19 percent lower than the number reported the same time last year. The housing shortage is causing buyers to be more aggressive, placing bids as soon as a house is put on the market.
