Cities across the globe are trying to become “smart,” but it’s a concept that’s not easily defined.
City manager Gregory Rose formed an Innovation Team at the City of Maricopa, and one of its tasks is to research what constitutes a “smart city” and how it can utilize those concepts to improve Maricopa.
The textbook definition of a smart city is one that uses technology to improve city services, reduce costs and resource consumption, and engages more effectively with its citizens.
So what does that mean for Maricopa?
