Phoenix residents could elect the city’s next mayor this summer, and while the election has been sleepy compared with the crowded contest in 2011, the three candidates have starkly different visions for the nation’s sixth-largest city.
Mayor Greg Stanton is running for a second term and faces two opponents in the Aug. 25 primary: business owner Anna Brennan and educator Matt Jette. Early voting began this week. A runoff election will be held if no candidate receives more than 50 percent of the vote.
