A member of Glendale City Council has a personal connection to and conviction about the cases being heard at the United States Supreme Court relating to Arizona and redistricting.
“I am relieved the court chose to allow voters to begin to regain control of their Congress by establishing independent redistricting commissions,” said Councilmember Bart Turner, in a July 4 statement following the June 29 decision.
Turner was among those who spearheaded the creation of the Arizona Independent Redistricting Commission through a voter initiative in 2000.
