This year will mark the 5th Anniversary of the world’s most interesting polo event, The Bentley Scottsdale Polo Championships: Horses & Horsepower.

Here’s what’s new in 2015 . . .

• The Phoenician will be presenting a High-Tea Tent for the first time.

• We will turn off all sound during one period of play (a chukker) and the only sound will be a quartet from the Phoenix Symphony.  We are unaware of this ever being done at a polo match before.

• We will have a ballroom dancing floor field-side with instructors from Fred Astaire, creating yet another unique element at a polo match.

• GQ model and the #2 ranked American polo player Nic Roldan will be playing, anchoring the Aspen Valley Polo Club which will take on the 2-time defending champs from Wales.

• The Barrett-Jackson Champagne & Jazz Lounge: Presented by Chandon will feature a jazz band for the first time.

• The Larsen Art Auction – produced by downtown Scottsdale’s Larsen Art Gallery – will be back for year two auctioning off nearly 250 works in a tent during play, including several Picasso works.

• The Canine Couture, a dog fashion show produced by Applewood Pet Resort & Bark Avenue will also be back as will the World’s “Longest” Catwalk fashion show produced by Phoenix Fashion Week and sponsored by Cullum Homes.

• The best car show until Barrett-Jackson will also be back with a sneak preview of their 2016 event along with cars from the Arizona Lamborghini Club and the Ferrari Club of America – Desert Region along with a sneak preview of the Concours In The Hills.

• Finally, we are excited about the return of Kareem Rosser, the best African American polo player of all time.  He’s been featured on ESPN, 60 Minutes and HBO.  His team previously won the national high school championship and in April he won the college championship playing for Colorado State.

In fact we are pleased to welcome Kareem back to the Valley prior to the event for our Polo Preview Party on Thursday, September 10th, 5:30pm-7:00pm at Relish at The Phoenician.
