Newsroom veterans at the Arizona Republic and other Gannett-owned newspapers are getting a new set of buyout offers.
Gannett Co. Inc. (NYSE: GCI) is offering buyouts to employees with 15 or more years of experience and are age 55 or older this October.
Staffers have until Oct. 12 to decide on the voluntary buyout. It essentially offers two weeks’ pay for every year of service for those with 25 years or more with Gannett. That compensation is capped at one year’s worth of compensation. So, it’s essentially a year’s worth of pay.
