By this time next year, PhoenixMart is expected to be open, and with it the promise of 3,000 new jobs.
And Central Arizona College hopes to prepare students to fill many of those positions.
Recent CAC graduates could have the opportunity to earn a salary in the high $40,000 range working at the center, according to Patrick Welch, spokesman for AZ Sourcing, the developer behind PhoenixMart.
“Obviously it’s a natural drawing source for us,” Welch said of CAC. “We have already been out there for different career nights, and it’s something that we hope the students can take full advantage of with their various backgrounds that they have.”
