Vacant Scottsdale site to become townhomes

The long-vacant site at McDowell and 68th Street could soon be replaced by an 81-unit planned townhome community by K. Hovnanian Homes.

The 6.9 acre Aire on McDowell development adds to the growth of housing options along McDowell Road that includes the Las Aguas (AZBEX, Feb. 7, 2014) and Mark Taylor San Travesia multifamily projects, among others.

The former dealership property and buildings have been vacant for several years and have been the subject of complaints from area businesses and neighborhoods, according to the planning documents.
