With 162 group homes within its boundaries, Prescott is listed as the ninth top community for recovery in the U.S – just ahead of San Francisco, and behind New York City, Los Angeles, and Boston.
Residents who live in the neighborhoods in which the group homes have clustered let local officials know this week that they are frustrated with the “saturation” level that puts Prescott, population 40,000, in the same league with the county’s largest cities.
Nearly 100 people turned out at Prescott City Hall Thursday evening for a presentation on the current status of Prescott’s substance abuse treatment centers and the related enforcement activities that have occurred.
