In two separate and unrelated deals, a logistics company and plastics manufacturer have selected Phoenix locations to house operations that will bring a combined 300 new jobs to the Valley. Menlo Logistics in San Francisco, Calif. has leased a 552,330-square-foot distribution facility at 7037 W. Van Buren Street where it will employ roughly 200 new workers and an affiliate of Inteplast Group Ltd. in Livingston, N.J. has purchased a manufacturing building at 5125 E. Madison Street so that it can add 100 employees to its fast-growing Valley operations. Menlo Logistics (Robert Bianco, Jr., pres.), a subsidiary of Ann Arbor, Mich.-based Con-way Inc. (NYSE:CNW), is a $1.7 billion global provider of logistics, transportation management and suppl chain services. The company selected the Van Buren Street property over other options in No. Calif. and So. Calif. as well as other Valley locations. Word is the logistics firm signed a leased valued at $7 + million to occupy all 552,330 sq. ft. of the West Phoenix structure, which is owned by a company formed by Lincoln Property Co. (LPC) in Phoenix.
