PHOENIX, AZ, November 17, 2015. The Arizona Solar Energy Industries Association (AriSEIA) Board of Directors is pleased to announce it has hired former Republican State Representative Lucy Mason as its Executive Director. The appointment is effective immediately.

“As we head into next years’ rate cases and the legislative session, the Board felt we needed someone who understood the issue and the politics, knew the players and was best positioned to help protect our industry now and in the future,” said Mark Holohan, President of AriSEIA. “Lucy Mason brings to AriSEIA many years of knowledge and experience in energy policy that can only benefit our members. AriSEIA’s experience of having worked with Lucy in the past to promote the growth of our industry and energy freedom for ratepayers, the Board felt she was a great fit at this point in our history.”
“I see the solar industry in Arizona as a business and jobs creation engine,” said Mason. “During the recession, this industry created hundreds of new businesses and nearly 10,000 new, high-paying jobs and our regulators and legislators should be promoting this industry, not trying to stifle or neuter it.”
“My job is to educate regulators, legislators, the Governor and the public about how the solar industry can work together with our utilities to promote economic development, energy freedom and choice in Arizona. There’s no reason we cannot make that happen.”
AriSEIA’s mission is to expand the use, development and deployment of solar energy technologies in an ethical manner in Arizona, and to establish Arizona as a leader in growing sustainable solar industries thereby helping provide a clean energy future for generations to come. Our desired outcome is a highly trusted and successful solar industry, making Arizona the best place in the world for people to go solar.
Mrs. Mason will be responsible for the daily operations of the association, fund raising, industry and community outreach, and policy development.
