It takes a coordinated effort to get nearly 100,000 auto racing fans in and out of Phoenix International Raceway for the Quicken Loans Race for Heroes 500 and surrounding events this weekend.
PIR officials are working with the various law-enforcement, municipal and transportation agencies to get those headed to the track in and out safely.
The main race takes place at 12:30 p.m. Sunday but other events include the DAV 200 at 2 p.m., Saturday and the Lucas Oil 150 truck race at 6:30 p.m. Friday.
