“This town has more cows than people” has long been a common observation of certain Midwestern locales.
Substitute solar panels for cattle and you could be talking about Florence. Solar panels outnumber people by a factor of many times, and the number continues to grow.
The new Sandstone Solar ranch, currently under construction near Anthem off Felix Road, will use 182,000 Jinko Solar photovoltaic modules, mounted on a tracking system that will follow the sun. They will join the many thousands of panels already drawing the sun’s power at Copper Crossing solar ranch off Bella Vista Road and the future Bonnybrooke solar project off Diversion Dam Road.
