Official says Arizona better prepared for water shortages than others

A member of the council that oversees Pinal County water issues says the state has been doing a better job of preparing for shortages than its western neighbors.

David Snider, vice chairman of the Groundwater Users Advisory Council, acknowledged there is a shortage of available Colorado River water, which affects several Western states. It’s his personal opinion — he stressed he wasn’t speaking for the GUAC — that Arizona has done a better job than other Western states to prepare for water shortages.
