Automatic voter registration bill faces uphill climb – again

Arizona’s conservative Legislature will have an opportunity, however unlikely, to follow in the steps of neighboring Democratic states and adopt measures to automatically register new voters.

For the second consecutive year, Sen. Andrew Sherwood, D-Tempe, is sponsoring a bill to automatically register eligible, voting-age Arizonans when they obtain a driver’s license, be it a new license or renewing an expired one.
