City could soon be home to a $54 million, 24-field sports complex — assuming someone is willing to foot the bill.
In as little as three years, northeast Mesa could be home to a high-tech, 24-field sports complex generating $98 million in annual economic impact.
If officials can figure out how to pay for it, that is.
Visit Mesa CEO Marc Garcia on Dec. 8 presented an ambitious plan for the proposed complex near Brown Road and Loop 202, contending its high-tech facilities and virtually limitless applications would more than justify its $54 million-plus price tag.
