Pension reform might be added to special election ballot

Proposition 123 may have some company on the ballot when the May 17 special election comes around.

Advocates of the coming proposal to reform the Public Safety Personnel Retirement System, a group that includes lawmakers, the Governor’s Office, public safety unions, conservative think tanks and others, are considering putting the package on the May ballot alongside the K-12 funding package. Multiple stakeholders have contacted the Secretary of State’s Office to inquire about the logistics of putting the pension reform plan on the May ballot.
