Downtown Phoenix’s signature arts district could get branding, beautification and a budget through a designation under consideration by the city this month.

Roosevelt Row leaders are making the case to formalize the walkable collection of galleries, shops and restaurants into a business-improvement district. Approval by the City Council would come with the ability to use a state law to charge nearby property owners to fund extra services for the area and establish an organization to guide its future.
