State experiences 23.2 percent jump in revenues

In gains reminiscent of the good times before the recession, state revenues took in $84.4 million more last month than what was assumed when legislators approved the budget earlier this year.

Budget analysts, however, aren’t exactly sure what’s driving the 23.2 percent jump in revenues in November when compared to the prior year.

Analysts want more data to see what may be driving the numbers, but there is suspicion that the state’s tax amnesty program, which has also already exceeded expectations, is spilling over into November.
