Eloy vice mayor opts to run for reelection rather than for mayor

Vice Mayor Micah Powell has announced that he will be officially running for re-election this year to retain his seat on the Eloy City Council.

This may come as a surprise to some who believed that he would make a run at the mayor’s seat following his appointment to the vice mayoral position during his first term, a position that is voted on and appointed by the council every two years
