Half of Pinal’s workforce heads north to Maricopa County

More than half of Pinal County’s workforce has jobs in Maricopa County, and officials want to see that change.

Pinal County Manager Greg Stanley provided an update on the county’s economic development efforts to the Florence Town Council this week and said the county wants to be a partner in ensuring Florence’s success.

The county’s population is currently estimated at 406,625, with a workforce of 155,325. But more than half — about 78,000 — of those individuals work in Maricopa County, Stanley said.
