Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton and four city council members were inaugurated to their new terms in ceremonies Monday morning.
Stanton faces his second four-year term leading the nation’s sixth-largest city. He was first elected on Nov. 8, 2011. He won re-election on Aug. 25.
He was sworn in by Phoenix Municipal Court Chief Presiding Judge B. Don Taylor III.
“My reelection is not a victory of one person or one party or one ideology,” Stanton said in his prepared remarks. “Rather, it is faith in our shared vision for the future.”
