For nearly 45 minutes, city council discussed an item of special interest; allowing Glendale citizens to keep chickens as pets in residential areas of the city.
“What we consider pets has changed over time and families’ desires to be more sustainable has increased over the past few years,” Councilmember Bart Turner said. “This item was brought to me by a family in my district and we don’t have restrictions on dogs and cats, so, I believe that we should not have restrictions on chickens.”
