Glendale wants arm of L.A. Kings owner AEG to manage Arizona Coyotes arena

Glendale officials said Wednesday they want to craft a deal with AEG Facilities to manage the city-owned arena at the Westgate Entertainment District.

The Arizona Coyotes — the arena’s primary tenant — have also been the arena manager. Glendale opted to put out a new request for proposals for the arena last year. The city and a Boston consulting firm prefers Los Angeles-based AEG’s bid over ones put forward by SMG and Spectra. SMG manages the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans and Soldier Field in Chicago.
