Arizona’s water infrastructure faces expensive repairs

The state’s water companies have serious infrastructure needs, and customers may have to start paying more on their monthly water bills to finance those needs, panelists at a water event said Tuesday.

Across the state, water and wastewater infrastructure investments and upgrades could cost almost $10 billion over the next two decades, according to the American Society of Civil Engineers’ annual infrastructure report card.

Nationally, infrastructure needs amount to $1.7 trillion over the next 25 years, according to the report card.
