As solar grows, so does the wait from at APS

Arizona Public Service Co. is facing a 90day backlog on rooftop solar approvals, which means thousands of homeowners who install power panels have to wait months for the utility to give the OK before they start making electricity.

Marc Romito, APS renewable energy manager, said that the company is struggling to keep up with the thousands of people installing solar each month, but that it is addressing the backlog. “We are excited to get these systems interconnected as fast as possible,” he said.
