PCDS student qualifies, enters state free throw championship

Paradise Valley resident and third grader at Phoenix Country Day School Logan Rose, 9, had a big weekend Jan. 30-31.

After winning the local Elks Club Free Throw Shooting contest two weeks ago in north Phoenix by making 22 out of 25 shots in the Boys 8-9 year old division, Logan captured the Western Regional Championship this past weekend in Wickenburg, according to a press release.

By making 21 of of 25 shots Logan moves onto the “final four” shooters in the state championship in Apache Junction Feb. 13, where he will take on the winners from Arizona’s north, south and eastern regions. A victory there would propel him into the national regional contest in Las Vegas with the finals taking place in Chicago.
