Surplus instead of bleeding
Pinal County’s general fund budget has taken dramatic hits in the last couple of years, but a presentation given to the Board of Supervisors on Wednesday provided cautious optimism.
The good news is the county is projected to operate with an estimated 1 percent surplus for the remainder of the current fiscal year, ending June 30. Contrasted with fiscal year 2015, when the county finished at an 11 percent deficit — as a percentage of revenues versus expenditures — things look decidedly more positive.
