Reintroduced bill, would lower real estate investor’s $146,100 fee

State lawmakers are considering a bill rejected last year that would help a real-estate investor avoid a $146,100 fee

House Bill 2403 has the same wording and same benefits as a bill last year that would cap how much county treasurers can charge to record certain property deeds

The bill is opposed by county treasurers across Arizona, who said it was created to benefit one person and will cost taxpayers thousands of dollars

State legislators rejected a bill last year crafted specifically to help a Phoenix lawyer and real estate investor avoid paying $146,100 in county fees.
