Residents start process to recall Superior mayor

Residents of Superior have decided to take matters into their own hands. If Mayor Jayme Valenzuela won’t resign, it appears a recall effort is imminent.

At a Superior Town Council meeting Thursday night, resident and business owner Sue Anderson told the Casa Grande Dispatch a recall packet had been taken out and she and others will now attempt to collect the required number of signatures to hold a recall election. The town has been on edge since December, when former Town Clerk Rachel Sanchez announced at a council meeting that someone had misused the town debit card to make cash withdrawals for personal use, including at Wild Horse Pass Casino in Chandler.
