The city of Tempe has hired a Tennessee-based firm — over several local bidders — for an $82,000 consulting contract to help craft a new branding and marketing campaign.
City spokeswoman Nikki Ripley said North Star will take the next six months to help Tempe come up with a new branding campaign. Ripley said Tempe has never hired a branding consultant before.
“We’ve never done anything like this,” she said.
