The Coconino County Board of Supervisors is considering wading into the debate over the transfer of federal public lands to state control — and coming down solidly against it.

On Tuesday, the board discussed a draft resolution that would clearly and publicly oppose any “effort to claim, take over, litigate for or sell off federal public lands” within the county.
