Kortsen after a third term on the Casa Grande City Council

Guaranteeing an educated, professional workforce will be a challenge in the city’s future, according to Councilwoman Mary Kortsen.

She’s seeking a third term on the council in this year’s election and is hoping to get local government more involved in the classroom if re-elected.

She said there are ample opportunities for local government to develop partnerships with educational institutions such as Central Arizona College. It’s a matter of “getting the right people at the table,” she added, to find out what educators need and how government leaders can help.
