This photo of a Girl Scout selling cookies in front of a medical marijuana dispensary went viral in 2014. It illustrates the organization’s marketing acumen gained from 83 years of raising funds.
But now, we learn sales of legal marijuana have surpassed Girl Scout cookies, according to a new report from Marijuana Business Daily.
It isn’t, but this development seems un-American, and it makes me sad for the Girl Scouts. Let’s just say it yet another twist and turn in American society.
Don’t get me wrong, I support medical marijuana in belief it helps relieve several maladies. The main reason I support the sale of small amounts of cannabis for “recreational” use is because it’s hypocritical to warn us about the negatives of marijuana use when alcohol is responsible for far more health problems and deaths than weed ever would be. Let’s have a level playing field. .
So grab yourself some Girl Scout cookies and eat up. You’ll feel better.
