Maricopa official to be city manager for Globe

After nearly 11 years of service, five job titles and wearing as many as three figurative hats at once, longtime municipal employee Paul Jepson is leaving his post as intergovernmental affairs director for the city of Maricopa to take over the position of Globe city manager.

Hired on July 7, 2005, Jepson was only the 15th employee on the books to work for the city that was then less than 2 years old. Trailers served as a makeshift city hall and municipal offices at the time.

Jepson said he took the job because it was a great opportunity to start from the ground up and help build a city. It had its challenges, he added, but it was very exciting times.
