Mayor hopeful PhoenixMart would ‘move forward’ soon

Mayor Bob Jackson did not cover many topics in his final state of the city address Wednesday afternoon at The Property Conference Center.

PhoenixMart was one, and he said he debated his approach. In last year’s address, Jackson said the project was expected to start “building soon.”

Some progress has occurred in the last year — hundreds of concrete footings have been poured and the city issued a foundation permit for underground utilities to be installed — but vertical construction on the PhoenixMart building has yet to begin.
