The construction of an 800-acre photovoltaic solar farm between Kingman and Valle Vista could begin this fall following the Mohave County Board of Supervisors’ approval of the project.
Supervisors needed to take two steps in order to move forward: Amend the county’s general plan to change the land use designation of the property from agriculture-residential with minimum 10-acre lots to an alternative energy overlay, and then rezone the land to the alt-energy overlay.
