Renewable energy is on the rise in Arizona and represents a promising future for our state, which has some of the best solar potential in the country. To take advantage of the economic benefits of renewable energy, we’ll need to utilize public lands.
Recently, the Department of the Interior has begun encouraging the responsible development of clean power on public lands. But as we approach the final year of the Obama administration, more can be done to ensure our public lands are prepared to accommodate renewable energy at the scale and urgency we need to address climate change.
