Surprise homeowners and real-estate agents can rejoice: After a few years of stalled development and waning home values, things are looking up.
In the first three months of this year, 944 homes were sold in Surprise, up nearly 12 percent over this time last year, according to Street Scout Home Values, an annual analysis of metro Phoenix’s housing market done with the Information Market. Home values also grew by 8.5 percent last year, pushing the median home value above the $200,000 mark.
An uptick in homebuilding played a large role in the housing industry bounce-back. Developers are once again ready to build and people are eager to buy.
