7 running for 3 Maricopa council seats; Mayor Price unopposed

With the filing deadline now passed, local voters can finally get a clearer look at all the candidates officially running for city offices.

Incumbent Mayor Christian Price is running unopposed for the second straight time for the city’s top spot. If elected in August, he would begin his third term in January, though this time in a four-year term. The term length was changed by voters in 2014 to go from two to four years to match the rest of the council members.
