53 Arizona mayors endorse McCain in tough Senate fight

Fifty-three Arizona mayors and former mayors have come out in support of U.S. Sen. John McCain’s reelection bid.

McCain is seeking a sixth term in the Senate. He faces a Republican primary challenge from former state legislator Kelli Ward and a potential general election battle with U.S. Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick, D-Ariz.

Mesa Mayor John Giles, Chandler Mayor Jay Tibshraeny, Goodyear Mayor Georgia Lord, Peoria Mayor Cathy Carlat and Gilbert Mayor John Lewis are among the McCain backers.
